Talkers

The weather has heated up again here. Not to the insanity of weeks past, but enough to make life a little daunting. We saw two date movies this week, because we'd seen everything in else in the theatre. The films were Scoop and Trust the Man. The verdict: avoid. However, if you like fart jokes, then you'll love the first 10 minutes of TTM. Once again, fate put us near some 'Talkers' in the theatre. These people feel the need to predict the scene seconds ahead of the film - like wow, you're a fucking genius lady, you can see 10 seconds ahead into a formulaic hollywood rehash that we've all seen a hundred times. Reva gave them a good 'shush'.

When time allows, we've been going to the local portugese cafe for a morning Abatanado (Americano).

I'll definitely skip them both! By the way, thanks for the disc of "Prison Break" - pure escapism as you said! I admit to watching it all in a short period of time - it is so much like "24"in the way each segment ends with you needing to see the next one immediately. Those shows bring out the worst in a person ... for instance, I was really hoping they would chop that guy's hand off ... and I was very satisfied when they did!

from Victoria (the aunt, not the city): Yes, I know "talkers" quite well, I also seem to attract them. (Why?) The best one was the guy who was talking to the characters on the screen, and then got up (it was a very small art film type theatre) and starting actually touching the screen. A bit distracting. Yikes! Where do they come from?!
