where are we? here I am

Here I am in the old edit suite, kicking back having just finished a first pass on the Dark Hours.

And here are my scene cards, the envy of the edit cottage.

And here I am in the subway, about to get lectured by a bus driver about the new anti-camera by-laws.

Hello! it's good to see that one of you has emerged from the underworld of superbusyness for a little glimpse of daylight ... great pictures, I want to know more about all of them, eg - why are your scene cards the envy of the edit cottage? Is there much more to do on that film? And that subway photo is fantastic! Wow! And they don't want cameras there anymore? Why? (and you don't have to answer any of those!)
I hope Reva is doing well - we all think of you often. xox

Everyone else is using recipe cards with handwritten scene numbers. I spent the 4 hours to make the picture cards, just like Walter Murch. We have tons of work left, yes. The sad thing is we'll never get to actually finish - we're going to stop once we have a rough cut. We're simulating what would actually happen if we were hired to edit a feature. Since after the rough cut the editor would work with the director of the film until picture lock, anything more for this exercise wouldn't be like the real world.

No cameras because it's an anti-terrorism measure!

Your picture cards are beautiful, worth the four hours I'm sure. This must be your "deep perfectionistic tendencies" in action again, something which will hold you in good stead in your career!
