Sunday

it's fall

a weekend in review

Aren's view from his executive office uptown.

The next day, we head out to a recently discovered-because-it's-slightly-hidden coffee shop in our neighborhood.

Along the way, we see many beautiful things. Sadly, the cafe does not live up to the neighborhood.

That evening, we have dinner al fresco before we participate in Nuit Blanche.

I had a craving for greek giant bean casserole...

and irish soda bread. Yum.

We also have delicious tangelos for dessert. Nuit Blanche is great. We see amazing installations. It's wonderful to see so many people (hundreds of thousands) hanging out all night long, checking out art. We aren't as hardcore as we would have liked and only stay out until 2:30am or so. Next year, 7 to 7, baby.

The following morning finds us on the deck again, this time with pancakes. It's still quite warm here, a sweater is too much.

Fortified, we venture to Queen's Park for another free festival, Word on the Street. It is huge with many tents filled with authors and books. We leave with couple of $1 magazines and a renewed love of urban living.
